More About Wolf Creek Broadcasting LLC

Wolf Creek Broadcasting expanded in 2009 across Wolf Creek Pass to the San Luis Valley. KZBR 97.1 FM, a brand new station brought to life there by a radio genius from Mississippi, had just begun transmitting from La Jara and was the first of two acquisitions in this expansion phase.

Flashback to 1929: KGIW 1450 AM in Alamosa was built and began broadcasting. Many years later KALQ 93.5 FM in Alamosa along with its translator in Del Norte went on-the-air in the mid-20th century. These stations, studios and a new home for KZBR were purchased in 2010 by Wolf Creek Broadcasting. Next time you're at Wolf Creek Pass you can tune in to all of the Wolf Creek Broadcasting stations from one location, covering more than 100 miles in every direction.

Today, our broadcasting business is again in expansion mode as our two AM stations will soon be found on the FM dial. In fact, KWUF 1400 AM is now simulcast on 102.5 FM and very soon KGIW 1450 AM will be simulcast on 105.3 FM. All these stations enjoy a fun and meaningful rapport with our growing and vibrant communities. We hope you always enjoy your listening experience.

Wolf Creek Broadcasting is a member of the National Association of Broadcasters and the Colorado Broadcasting Association, the Alamosa Chamber of Commerce and the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce.
